Settings: User Groups (Manage Groups)
Purpose
User Groups lets you create and manage user groups and configure permissions for each group.
Access
- Login required.
- Typically Owner only.
Main Features
- Search groups: “Search group…”
- Add group: + Add button in the header
- Edit / Delete on each group
- Permissions button: opens Group Permissions for that group
Group Form (Add / Edit)
Common fields:
- Name (
alpha_dash) — required
Allowed: letters/numbers/_/-(examples:cashier,admin,owner_custom).
Usually stored in lowercase. - Description — optional (display label, e.g., “Cashier”)
Notes & Tips
- After creating a group, the app may automatically open the Permissions screen for that group.
- Start with minimal permissions and expand as needed.
